🎶 She said it's 2 am I must be lonely…..or maybe she just couldn't get her brain to shut off so she decided to write a blog. Still mentally arguing with the Facebook zealots who jumped on an anonymous post asking for help to cleanse her home because she thought had a spirit or entity. “Oh no ! Jesus is the only way, sage and crystals are the devil, pray, or I'll pray for you, call your pastor/priest. Burning sage is a closed practice, you can't use it because you're not native.” Please all of you shut the fuck up. Someone asked for assistance not judgment, it wasn't an invitation to bring out your salvation army drum and bell, go back inside. I'm not anti religion, I'm anti regurgitation, I'm anti lack of knowledge. Please stop swinging around a book you've obviously never really read or comprehend as a weapon based on the cover jacket's description or a book report you got from someone else. The comments and the complete and utter lack of knowledge, understanding and compassion annoy me. So there I sit reading some of the things and I try not to be an ass pointing out the flaws in their logic and not launch a full blown diatribe into the many reasons they are wrong. Working in a shop that sells crystals, when we post to a lot of groups to share events there's always someone who's got to comment about crystals not being “holy”. Then here's me trotting out with my coconuts pointing out that in the Bible in several locations crystals are used for protection. The breastplate of Aaron is adorned with 12 gemstones(aka crystals) for the tribes. The priests who guarded the Arc also had gemstone and gold breastplates, probably partially to shield themselves from radiation(but that's another rabbit hole). There are other references as well. Then out pops the people talking about burning herbs and how that's not good either, uh shit, here's me and my coconuts again, you know they burn herbs in churches right? Shall I insert the picture of the Catholic’s swinging around the sensor burning frankincense or myrrh ? Most of those Jesus candles are scented with Palo Santo some of y'all be lighting when praying to a saint or God for something. Some also burn Palo Santo as well. Just FYI in case you didn't know that's a ritual or manifesting what you want by asking a higher power for assistance. Oops my bad I wasn't supposed to mention that, please stay in denial. One of the comments that frosted my ass most was the one spouting off about “new age” stuff and that he trusted his old time religion. No, stop, stay away from the keyboard, don't tell him, I haven't but I really want to. Sir my pagan “religion” is actually older than yours so….do you want to talk about that?? Some of your most prominent holidays are whitewashed versions of mine, circumvented by the church because they couldn't keep us heathens from celebrating the life cycles and changing of the seasons we embraced for a long time before and after Christianity came around. We just had Easter, you know that one that happens the first Sunday after the vernal equinox or beginning of spring. The celebration of rebirth and new life, that we use the representation of growth and fertility with rabbits, chickens and eggs, and flowers. Like we do to celebrate Ostara or the Goddess Eostre for rebirth and renewal and fertility, the earth waking up from winter. Hmm her name sounds sorta familiar, wonder why.. And then this one time…(you can say it 😂 at band camp) there was another holiday that we celebrated first. What was that one again, oh I remember it's Yuletide, I mean Christmas, because and this is like nails on a chalkboard to me “Jesus is the reason for the season”. Yes, a man historically born in a different month based on the book you've never read fully is the reason for a season where literally hundreds of other religions have celebrated, many the rebirth of their own gods for decades before Christianity is the reason. It's not at all conceited to take all the credit, when Yule, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa and others all happen in this same time frame. It's also not at all suspect that you worship on Sunday (named for the god of the Sun) when Jewish people (the religion Jesus was born into, in case you didn't know) still to this day honor the sabbath on Saturday. I know it's not at all in any relation to the fact that pagans worshiped the Sun on the day honoring him. But I digress, learning anything about your own religion or others is way too difficult for people so please continue to merely repeat the things you heard from someone else's book report. Do not at any cost, not take everything someone tells you at face value and please send that prince the money he needs because he will totally send you the rest as soon as he can. Me and my coconuts are going to ride off into the sunset for now. Blessed Be.
